Special styling for completed achievements in the HUD still exists, since originally tracked achievements were not automatically removed from watch list upon completion. Attempting to do so, however, will overwrite your entire watch list with displayed search results, including already completed achievements, which normally cannot be tracked. If watch list category was selected prior to starting a text search, the search results can be dragged around as if they're reorderable. The watch list is useful for tracking a group of related achievements, especially Living World achievement categories. Once the Daily Completionist meta-achievement is completed nothing is displayed by default, except while in Fractals of the Mists or Living World zones with their own daily categories, such as Bloodstone Fen, where achievements within the relevant category are displayed until they are all completed. By default, Daily Achievements for open world, PvP or WvW are displayed, depending on where you are in the game. Having any achievements on the watch list will override the default watch list.
It is possible to rearrange items that are on the watchlist by clicking and dragging an achievement item in the panel. Achievements that have been completed are removed from the watchlist automatically. If there are more than 6 achievements on the watch list, the top six will be displayed. Up to a maximum of 6 achievements are displayed on the achievements UI. The Watch List can be sorted by Tier Completion, Total Completion, or the list can be customized by dragging the achievements in the Watch List tab. An achievement can be added or removed by toggling the eye in the bottom right corner of each achievement on and off. Up to 20 achievements can be added to a watch list and will be displayed in the Achievements UI panel.
Drag and drop achievements to reorder them. The HUD display will show the top 6 achievements in your watch list. Outside the game, players may compare their accumulated achievement points with others on the leaderboards here: NA / EU. In the game, players in the same guild or party may view each other's total achievement points, but with the exception of wearing a title, only the player can see their individual achievements obtained.
Some achievements have prerequisites and will not progress until all tiers of the prerequisite achievement have been completed. A few achievements are repeatable, granting achievement points every time the progress bar is filled at which time its progress is reset. Other achievements serve as an umbrella achievement for certain achievements in the category, such as Learn to Kite. Meta achievements act as an umbrella achievement for the achievement category, requiring other achievements in the category to be completed. While most achievements are standard and require completing certain tasks in the game, others have special purposes or requirements. For these tiered achievements, the menu shows progression along the current tier, not the overall progression. Many achievements have multiple tiers and a notification will appear upon completing each tier. Upon obtaining an achievement, the player will be notified with a popup in the lower right corner of the UI stating the name, tier, description, and achievement points gained. Most items rewarded from achievements are account bound. Progression, achievement points, and titles are shared across all characters on an account. Achievements are organized into achievement categories, which are organized into logical groups to aid in navigation. These rewards include coin, laurels, gems, weapon and armor skins, account bonuses, achievement chests. Players also get achievement rewards for obtaining enough achievement points for the tier. Completing an achievement may reward the player with achievement points, a mastery point, an item, or a title. They are awarded for completing various tasks spanning all game types PvE, PvP, and WvW. Achievements are a system in the game to help gauge what a player has accomplished in the game.
