I'm using a 76s at the moment, is the menu setup the same on the 76CSX and 60CSX? And what are the other differences? Not taking appearance into account. Posted: Wed 18:52 UTC Post subject: RE: Garmin GPSMAP 60CSxĭoes the 76CSX have this same feature? I can't find it in the manual. Posted: Mon 11:23 UTC Post subject: RE: Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx If you thermal in circles and you have set the garmin on the map screen, if you set your scale to 120m or 200m then you can always find the thermals you were in by the circles of your tracks displayed on the screen.

Now what I'm using is most of the time (I'll write it in French, sorry for non frenchies. Speed, magnetic heading, altitude, glide ratio and elevation, bearing, vertical speed and moving time. I usually add this to the "trip computer" page.Ĭurrently I have my trip computer setup to show. Even my Etrex Vista supports the glide ratio. Yes, you can customize any of the data fields to display current glide ratio on any of the GPS 60 or 76 models. Posted: Wed 9:43 UTC Post subject: RE: Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx Whatever you can find all these settings info in your user's book. This is not the case for the switching method of route wpt. you leave/enter the start cylinder, these proximity wpt can be set different for each. PS : This has nothing to do with proximity waypoint which are also helpfull for visual and acoustic warning when for eg.

390m, than I'm sure to have flown inside the FAI cylinder (400m radius) when it switch. On 60CS(x) you can choose how theGPS will switch the waypoint of the route, 3 possibilities : Manual, Auto, and last and most usefull for us AT CHOOSEN DISTANCE FROM WPT, and there I set a distance of eg. Now the best is to create a route with the day task wpt and here is THE important tricks :
ACCESSING GPS TRACKS ON GARMIN 60CSX DOWNLOAD
I use the 60 CS since long time now and CSX is no huge differences.įor comp, usualy you receive the waypoints download during subscription day or thru the net. Posted: Tue 19:08 UTC Post subject: RE: Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx This will trigger an audio (I usually can't hear the alarm while flying) and a visual alarm that you have reached the waypoint. You can also use the Proximity option on the same menu page to setup alarms that trigger from some distance from these waypoints. (Hit the menu button twice to take yourself to the main menu and select the Route icon)ģ. Use the Route menu item to add the way points to a route. Setup the waypoints (just hit mark and enter the way point info or better yet use your computer with Mapsource or the waypoint manager to do that)Ģ.

but haven't used it in competition but here's what I would do.ġ. I have a 60csx (I love the improved satellite reception with the new X models). that the GPS follow each waypoint one after the other Just bought a GPSMAP 60CSx on eBay, but I don't know what is the right setup for using it in paragliding competition.
